My new years resolution

I made a simple resolution for this year, my resolution was to not cause myself anymore un-deserved stress or worry, to relax and enjoy my time with my fiancee and make sure our childs birth went by as smoothly as possible by getting everything ready early on so not as much as needed to be done nearer the birth. I know how easy it is to break the resolutions so that's why you don't make resolutions that you have no hope of completing. Though I never really understood the need of resolutions if you want to do something to better your life why wait till the end of a year? Why not just do it anyways?
I so far have kept with my resolution and seem to be doing really good. If you don't think you can complete a new year resolution then you shouldn't make one that diffecult, or if you don't think you can keep it in your mind for too long then don't make one that will take a long time to do.
